Our Mission/Aims
Guardian Homecare (West Berkshire) Ltd aims to “Lead The Way In Community Care” by providing a professional, quality service, offering choice, reliability and sensitivity to meet the needs of each individual service user. The key values underpinning our service are based on privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment.
Quality Standards
Our care workers work within the UKHCA Code of Practice as well as our own stringent quality standards.
Our employees are required to undergo training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the demands of their role. Regular ongoing supervision enables us to monitor that the required standards are being maintained.
Our office is inspected regularly by our industry regulators. This is supplemented by our own internal quality monitoring procedures, including service user, staff reviews and questionnaires.
Guardian Homecare (West Berkshire) is also ISO:9001 quality assured and also recieved the Investors In People award in 2005.
The Process
Access to our services is via the local authority's social services department, GP or hospital discharge team. Alternatively, individuals can approach us directly.
Before we begin to provide services, we arrange an initial home visit to carry out a full assessment. This assessment is undertaken by one of our managers or supervisors, who have additional skills and training in risk and needs assessments and care planning. In partnership with the service user, we then develop an individual plan of care and support. The care plan or person centred plan is a flexible working document that is reviewed on a regular basis or if the care/support needs change.
